Magic Eye Theater / Tomorrowland Theater / Starcade

The Tomorrowland Theater (as Disneyland is now referring to it) will reopen on April 17, 2015 showing an extended, 3D preview of the theatrical release, 'Tomorrowland'.

The Starcade will open on this date as well and will serve as display gallery for movie props.

Originally brought back in 2010 following his untimely death, the Michael Jackson 3D adventure Captain EO, closed in June 2014. The Magic Eye Theater has since been used to house 4D sneak peeks of Disney's upcoming films such as Guardians of the Galaxy and Big Hero 6. It is not clear if Captain EO will return.

Soarin' Over California will close at Disney California Adventure from January through May 2015. The attraction will receive a 4K projector digital upgrade and new screens. Soarin' Over California is original to the 2001 opening of California Adventure and the current projection technology appears very dated.

During the refurbishment all of Condor Flats will close to facilitate the transformation of the land to the 'Grizzly Peak Airfield'.

Innoventions

Innoventions at Disneyland will close starting March 31st. Disney has yet to release details surrounding the planned closure. Strong rumors are pointing towards a exhibit on the lower level for this year's Disneyland Diamond 60th Anniversary Celebration, and an upgraded Marvel meet and greet area on the second level.

Some are even speculating the possible addition of Star Wars ahead of this December's release of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. During a shareholder's call in last August, Disney CEO Bob Iger was asked about the Star Wars franchise and the possibility of a larger presence at the Disney parks. Iger replied by saying that the company is working on designs for a "far greater Star Wars presence in our parks".

Officially, there is NO REOPENING DATE for Innoventions. Disney has yet to confirm the plan for Innoventions nor a date. May 22nd is a placeholder which could change at any time.

Splash Mountain, the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Davy Crockett's Explorer Canoes, The Hungry Bear Restaurant, and Pooh Corner, Briar Patch and Professor Barnaby Owl's Photographic Studio will all be closed beginning January 12th.

Exact reopening date is not yet known.

See the individual attraction listings for more specific dates.

The last time all of Critter Country closed was in December of 2011. Disney feels it is best to close the entire area when both Splash Mountain and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh close at the same time.

Here is a photo from that closure:
