This morning, Disneyland confirmed that the “Jump, Jive, Boogie Swing Party” will be returning to its rightful place at the old Carnation Plaza Gardens stage, now known as the Royal Theatre inside Fantasy Faire.
At the end of a Disney Parks Blog post highlighting events for the Monstrous Summer 24-hour all-nighter Disney said,
“…beginning June 15 the “Jump, Jive, Boogie Swing Party” will return to the Royal Theatre for select nights during the summer”.
Just over a year ago, the “Jump, Jive, Boogie Swing Party” was moved out to Downtown Disney at the start of the construction to transform the historic Carnation Plaza Gardens into the Fantasy Faire princess meet-and-greet location. From the beginning, Disney maintained that the popular swing dancing would return when Fantasy Faire reopened earlier this year, only to official say "we're looking into it" when asked at the grand opening. Now it appears Disneyland will finally allow the tradition to continue.
Update: The event will be held under the name "The Royal Swing Big Band Ball".
A tribute to "Date Nite at Disneyland" on the Carnation Plaza Gardens final night.
In years past, the “Jump, Jive, Boogie Swing Party” was held every Saturday evening. Just what does Disney mean by "select nights"? We don't yet know. But what I personally know, I'm showing my support by attending this event. Let's show Disneyland how important the swing dancing nights are to us, and hopefully the dancing will remain in place even after this summer!
